The BIG 📸:
We live in a world where everyone is starving for love and attempting to prove their value to receive it.
Whether it's through fame, possessions, titles, influence, or power, worldly wisdom teaches us to aim for these things. Because through these things, we can become worthy of love.
But the chase keeps us focused on ourselves; if we loved our neighbor as ourselves, the chase would cease to exist, and love would abound. This is what Jesus teaches. This is Godly wisdom.
"God says, Look, do not conform to the patterns of this world, but renew your mind in me. I don't care what the world values, but I do care about you. You don't have to prove anything to me. Come as you are. You are made in my image, and that is your true value.' Any message you hear outside of that is a lie. The world is superficial. The love of God was revealed when Christ died to redeem and liberate you from the lies of the evil one and those who remain captive by them."
The 🍞 of Life:
What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. - Psalms 8:4-5
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.” - Matthew 4:8-10
Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” - Luke 12:15
And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. - Romans 12:2
One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” - Mark 12:28-29
For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. - 1 Corinthians 5:14
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. - 1 Corinthians 13:13
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. - Isaiah 53:5
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. - 1 John 4:16
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. - Ephesians 3:14-19
