❤️ of the Matter:
Companies increasingly strive for a perfect, predictable workforce, losing sight of their arbitrary origins and the wonder of human touch and chance.
The BIG 📸:
There are so many talented people with outstanding potential who are overlooked, barred by bullet points, and asphyxiated by assessments in an increasingly robotic culture where gatekeepers attempt to scan the breadth of one's experience in an 8.5 x 11 forgoing the human touch in an attempt to create a super workforce.
But where will it end?
With the achievement of a soulless, emotionless artificial intelligence labor pool?
Beyond the data lies time and chance.
I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.
Life is not made up of data points but time and chance. Keep taking yours!
Robots nor anything in all creation can thwart the sovereign will of God.
Companies should be careful to refrain from automating themselves into losing leaders. Instead, they should determine if the tasks can be learned. And if so, take a more human approach and offer the job based on character and heart, for that is where the man and woman exist.
The resume is just a mask in a vast masquerade ball.
