❤️ of the Matter:
Once you have an encounter with God, there’s no going back when you are chosen!
The BIG 📸:
Life is hard, and the saints are not immune to hardships and trials. Like so many others, my journey has been marked by a series of highs and lows. I carry father wounds, broken dreams, and the truth, all a cocktail for depression.
You step outside your front door, glance at the news, catch a sneak peek of the upcoming films, listen to the radio, see what’s trending on social media, and understand a small piece of what Jesus felt when he wept over Jerusalem. Most days, I’m good, and a regular gym routine helps alleviate the dense emotions, and other times I need to cry out to God.
I was having one of those tough days when I came across this incredible testimony. It reminded me of my own and the grace shown to call me out of darkness and into God’s wonderful light. I recalled our trials are momentary and light up against the vast stretch of eternity. I cried BIG tears of gratefulness and celebration, witnessing one who was lost and is now found.
My friends, pray for a divine encounter from the hand of God, for no one can even come to him unless God calls him. But if God calls you, it is inexplicable mercy to those who receive it! His calling is a love that drives you for the rest of your life to honor him in everything you do and live according to his word.
The 🍞 of Life:
The greater my wisdom, the greater my grief. To increase knowledge only increases sorrow. - Ecclesiastes 1:18
For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. - 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
But as he came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, he began to weep.“How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes. Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you from every side. They will crush you into the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you did not recognize it when God visited you. - Luke 19:41-44
Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. - Galatians 6:8-9
Yes, you who trust him recognize the honor God has given him. But for those who reject him, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.”And, “He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they do not obey God’s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.” - 1 Peter 2:7-10
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ - Acts 17:24-28
Then he said, “That is why I said that people can’t come to me unless the Father gives them to me.” - John 6:65
So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. “For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.” - Hebrews 10:35-38
If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit. Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. - 2 Corinthians 5:13-15
